Pump or semi-auto shotguns

I got a Mossberg 500 pump that's been great forever. My dad keeps saying I should get a semi-auto for hunting, and I don't know why? The pump works fine. He thinks I'm stubborn. Maybe I am. What do you guys prefer and does it actually matter?

I used the same pump-action shotgun for years because it just felt right in my hands. Semi-autos are nice for the reduced recoil, but what you're used to matters the most. If it cycles every time and hits where you're aiming, it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks.

I'm sticking with pump shotguns because that muscle memory is huge for me. Semi-autos are nice and all, but knowing my way around a pump when I'm under pressure is better than having extra speed that I probably wouldn't use anyway.
