The capacity debate

I gave this a genuinely fair shot, a full year on high capacity, then a full year on standard capacity, just to see how I'd actually feel about each one in real life rather than in theory. The high capacity year felt comforting in a vague sort of way but it was also heavier and a little harder to conceal. The standard capacity year was lighter, easier to conceal and somewhere along the way I realized I never once found myself wishing I had more rounds in the magazine in any situation I actually ran into.

At the end of it, this never really felt like the forum argument everyone makes it out to be, it felt more like a personal calculation based on where I actually go and what I actually do day to day. Your context decides this one, not somebody else's spreadsheet.

Real-world carry is always more about what you’ll actually wear and use comfortably every day than what looks good on paper

I changed carry positions over about eighteen months, ended up somewhere unexpected, and all the forum debates felt pointless once I lived with both.
