The brass in the bargain bin at a gun show is either a treasure or a liability. Learn to inspect cases before you buy, some of those dents are a story you don't want to be part of..

Bargain-bin brass is like yard sale electronics, it could be gold, could be regret in shiny form..

Yeah bargain brass can be great but case inspection saves you from headaches and unsafe surprises.

I remember just grabbing any bargain brass back then and not really thinking twice. That always came back to bite me later at the press split necks with primers acting strange.

Cheap brass never stays cheap once you factor in time spent fixing its surprises.

Same here, cheap brass always looks good until you start seeing split necks and weird primer behavior later.

I pretty much treat those bins like a gamble these days. You can stumble onto some really great piece, but then there is also stuff in there I would not trust as far as I could throw it. Taking a quick look over everything first really saves you a lot of grief later on.
