Over-oiled my AR and it was a mess

I thought more oil was better and the thing was dripping. I got dirt and carbon stuck everywhere, what maintenance mistake did you make starting out?

Yep, we’ve all done that, ARs like lubed, not marinated. I learned that one the hard way too

I used to clean my rifle too hard, like it was a cast iron pan, and it wore out the parts faster. Now I follow the instructions and use a little oil.
