When do you consider a gun 'broken in'?

500 rounds minimum for semi-autos. Some guns run great from round one, some need time for parts to wear together. I don't trust a gun for carry or defense until I've run 500 rounds without issues. After that, it's proven. Anything less is hoping, not knowing..

I'm about the same. I want to have enough bullets to feel like I can really trust it. How well it works only matters when things are stressful and that trust comes from doing it over and over.
