I was about to pack up after a frustrating session. He came over and watched for a second and said "you're a good shooter having a bad day. Don't leave on a miss." I stayed, ran ten more shots and found something that worked. That distinction between bad day and bad shooter mattered more than he knew.

I remember an old guy telling me, “Stop chasing perfect and take the shot you’ve got.” I didn’t like hearing it back then, but he was on point.

That’s powerful advice, sometimes all it takes is a small boost of confidence.

Years back, some old guy told me something similar that totally changed how I do range sessions. Whenever I find myself just spraying rounds everywhere, I make a point to slow down and shoot one more mag carefully before packing up. That one step usually flips the whole day around.
