Planning a trip to visit family soon and trying to figure out the best route. I’d like to bring a firearm with me, but going through New York State makes that tricky. I hear the laws there can be pretty restrictive, and I don’t want to run into any issues. I’ve thought about avoiding NY altogether, but that adds a ridiculous amount of drive time. I’m curious if anyone else has dealt with this and what you decided to do. Any tips or suggestions would be appreciated.

NY is tricky so lock the gun unloaded in the trunk ammo in a different bag per FOPA. I avoid it by going I-76 through PA last trip no issues. Drive straight through no stops.
