Okay, so I'm trying to find a rifle for recreation shooting. I want something with cheap magazines and won't cost a fortune to feed. I'm thinking either .223 or 6.5 caliber for some good times and accuracy. Whatever I get needs to work well and have a decent scope and I plan to shoot it first before buying it. If you have recommendations, I am open to hear them

I'd go with .223 for cheap shooting, cheap mags, and less kick. But 6.5 is better if you're shooting far and fighting the wind. Try both with your scope and ammo to see what you like best before you commit.

.223 is good for fun shooting and it's cheap, if you like long shots and can spend more, the 6.5 has less recoil.

Yeah 223 is a good pick if you want to have fun without spending too much, so you have money left over for a decent scope and more importantly going to the range more.

Forget another AR, get a Henry Long Ranger in .223. It uses affordable AR mags and helps you focus on accurate shooting since it's lever action.
