During a qualification run, I had a stovepipe malfunction and without even thinking, I cleared it and kept shooting. The whole thing took maybe three seconds, that response came from years of dry fire and malfunction drills. It was a reminder that when stress hits, you don’t rise to the occasion, you fall back on your training.
 
That’s the payoff, training kicks in before your brain even finishes loading the problem.
 
That’s good training right there. When it’s automatic like that, you know it’s actually sticking.
 
All that dry fire practice really pays off when you don't have a second to actually think.
