Someone taught me the ball and dummy drill

They'd randomly load my gun with a dummy round. When I flinched on the dummy, it was obvious and made me super aware of the problem. That drill really works for identifying flinching.
 
The ball and dummy drill can be embarrassing. When my gun moved when I pulled the trigger on a dummy round, I knew I was anticipating the shot badly. It makes you face what you are really doing wrong.

It’s one of those simple drills that immediately shows you what your trigger control is really doing.
